The exact filter

In GSC Performance: filter by Position is between 10 and 20, sort by Impressions descending, look at the top 20 rows. Those are your opportunities. Anything with under ~500 impressions per period isn't worth a content review unless conversion intent is unusually strong.

What to do with the list

For each striking-distance query, look at the existing landing page. If the page is already strong, fix the on-page (title tag, H1, intent match). If the page is weak or missing, create a dedicated piece. Don't try to rank a generic page on every variant — split into intent-matched pages.

What ReportCue does

Surfaces the striking-distance keyword table in the Keywords view, sorted by opportunity score (impressions × inverse position). Re-runs nightly. No filter setup, no CSV exports.

Frequently asked questions

How long does it take a striking-distance keyword to move?

Typical first-page entry from position 12 takes 4-8 weeks after on-page changes if the page is already the right intent match. Shorter for low-competition queries, longer for high-competition.
